Smo Das – IFT Fellow 

Smo Das is a three time IFT Turnaround of the Year winner and has over 30 years’ experience supporting distressed medium and larger-sized mainly private businesses. He is particularly skilled working with family owned/ run businesses.  Although turnaround is his primary focus, he also provides strategy advice to profitable businesses.  Smo has mentored several Chief Executives and accepts NED roles when appropriate.

His turnaround track-record includes working for the customers of Barclays, RBS, HSBC and Lloyds.  Smo is often introduced by the Bank’s Business Support arm to their customers where there are challenging strategy, profitability and/or people issues at Board level which require urgent attention. Working at pace with the client, he has achieved significant cost reduction/restructuring objectives when required.

Key turnaround cases since 2000 span most sectors and include FE Colleges and Independent Schools.

Smo holds an MBA from Cranfield and is a member of the Non-Executive Directors’ Association.
