"I am a highly numerate and dynamic individual with wide industry experience who thrives upon opportunities created by structural or financial change. I am a transaction-focused person, who is able to quickly grasp complex issues whether they are commercial, financial or legal, and recommend and deliver an effective solution. I am currently focused on UK defined benefit (DB) pension-related opportunities at Lincoln Pensions (part of the Cardano Group). I am actively seeking DB pension related NED roles where the DB scheme is a material risk to the Board (public or private)."
Richard Farr led the BDO Pensions Advisory team from 2009 to 2015. From 2007 – 2009 he was Head of Pensions at Swiss Re and responsible for creating a new team of pension specialists to help them assess risk transfer opportunities. He led the Pension Corporate Team at PwC 2005 - 2007.
Richard advised the Pension Protection Fund on its initial risk-based levy, and the Pensions Regulator on its original Clearance Guidance rules. This included ground-breaking work on the development of the Employer Covenant, the use of Contingent Assets, the price for obtaining Clearance, and the PPF's innovative 33% stake in restructurings.
He has been CFO, Chairman or NED of several quoted and unquoted businesses (both through IPOs and restructurings)
