Nick retired from Deloitte in May 2024 after 39 years and 24 years as a Partner.
Nick has some 35 years of experience in Restructuring and Insolvency working with a wide range of stakeholders of businesses to assess the financial situation, build consensual solutions, and drive execution. Nick led the Deloitte UK Restructuring Services business for some 6 years before its sale in 2021.
Nick has experience across sectors, including business services, education, construction/infrastructure, consumer, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, real estate, retail, and government/public sector.
Nick was on secondment to the Cabinet Office in 2019 – 2020.
Nick’s future focus will be on roles where his experience can add value and have a positive impact, including:
- Advisor/NED/CRO/Interim to stakeholders (owner/board/creditor/lender) of corporates in financial stress/distress looking to formulate and execute turnaround/wind-down solutions.
- Advisor/NED/Governor to Education bodies and Professional Services firms with a growth focus.

- Financial Management: focus on profitability and cash and working capital management.
- Financial Planning: business planning and forecasting skills coupled with strategic thinking.

- Proactive decision-making and risk management, dealing with imperfect information.
- Relationship Management: empathetic and pragmatic integrator and trusted advisor.
- People Leadership: building and leading high-performing teams, succession planning, and talent development including, mentoring/coaching, exit management, and risk mitigation.
Nick is also an experienced Board Director on a non-profit, charity and was an elected Deloitte UK board member for 6 years.
Nick is a Fellow of the ICAEW and a Qualified Insolvency Practitioner.
Nick has been a Board member of the IFT since September 2023.
