Mike Parsons – IFT Accredited Member
Mike Parsons is a senior director in the Global Restructuring Advisory practice, based in Kroll's Manchester office. He has more than 15 years of experience advising UK corporates in all aspects of business turnaround and restructuring.
Mike has particular expertise in completing independent business reviews, options reviews and financial forecast modelling. He has worked for a wide range of lenders including banks, asset-based lenders and private equity funders, as well as directly for corporates and their stakeholders. Mike also has significant experience in cash management, debt advisory assignments, pre-lend reviews and financial due diligence.
Mike leads Duff & Phelps’ Tax Arrears Solutions service line and together with his team has successfully negotiated over 500 repayment arrangements with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) since 2008, as well as handling numerous complex appeals relating to security requests and compliance issues.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps in 2008, Mike worked for the corporate restructuring division of Kroll. In 2012, he completed a secondment to Royal Bank of Scotland’s restructuring team where he gained valuable experience managing distressed lending portfolios.
During his career, Mike has worked on a number of high-profile assignments across a wide range of sectors, including the restructuring and sale of two printing businesses; the financial due diligence for a private equity house for their proposed acquisition of a major leisure facility; and the turnaround of a property development business with £165 mn of assets and £110 mn of debt from multiple lenders.
Mike is currently the chairman of the North West Regional Board of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and has hosted a number of turnaround focused events and seminars over the last three years. Mike was also a finalist in the 2017 TMA Young Turnaround Professional of the Year awards.
Mike has a degree in history from the University of Manchester and is a qualified chartered accountant.
