Kevin Coates

Kevin Coates – IFT Accredited Member

Kevin is partner and head of restructuring at Grant Thornton UK LLP.  He has over 25 years’ experience acting for stakeholders and management in times of distress – advising, stabilising and preserving value throughout the lifecycle of the business. He is a Fellow of the ICAEW, a fellow of Association of Business Recovery Professionals, a licensed insolvency practitioner and has a degree in Civil Engineering with Environmental Management.

He has worked across numerous sectors and geographies, including the UK, US, India, the Middle East, Europe and South Africa. This has provided a broad range of exposure to various business cultures and sizes, from individual mid-market entities to large international corporate groups, providing a uniquely broad set of experiences in turnaround, advisory and restructuring situations.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Kevin worked as an Interim restructuring officer at ED&F Man helping to successfully navigating the global group through a complex restructuring, refinancing and turnaround.

Through this, his other company side roles and his consulting background he has been able to develop considerable experience, knowledge and skills that have equipped me to produce innovative and pragmatic solutions to challenging problems.
