Ken Beaty

Ken Beaty – IFT Accredited Member 

Ken spent 20 years with International Investor 3i, latterly as Partner in the Private Equity business.  During this period he worked in Glasgow, Leeds, London and Continental Europe, led 40 private equity investments, 35 realisations, 20 turnaround/re-structure projects and held over 40 investee company board roles. From 2006 Ken focussed primarily on portfolio management, taking board roles in investee companies and working closely with management to deliver strategic objectives and create (or recover) value for stakeholders.

As part of his portfolio work Ken gained a broad experience of turnaround with industrial, service and consumer businesses in varying degrees of under-performance or distress. This breadth and depth of turnaround experience over many years alongside his wide personal network of turnaround practitioners and advisers and his calm and considered approach has earned Ken a reputation as someone comfortable and adept at dealing with “difficult” situations.

Having left 3i on 31 March 2013 Ken is now taking on independent chairman roles with private companies and is open to consider turnaround situations of all types.
