Gavin has almost 40 years of experience in the retail sector across retail operations, management consultancy and special situations investing.  Originally a trained chartered accountant, Gavin cut his teeth in retail operations at Dixons , before moving into management consulting with spells at a number of specialist retail consultancies including MHE and Itim.  However, the majority of his consulting experience was with EY where he became a Partner and Head of Retail (EMEA).  He founded Alteri Investors in 2014 with the exclusive backing of Apollo Global Management and remained CEO until the start of 2024.  During this time Alteri completed in excess of 25 financial & operational retail turnarounds, generating approximately 1.5x MOIC. Prior to running Alteri,  Gavin was CEO of distressed retail investor GA Europe.  He also previously held a number of retail sector CRO roles on behalf of GE and Barclays Bank. 

Gavin is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, the European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals (EACTP) and The Institute for Turnaround (IFT).
