Written by Charlotte Hales on July 26, 2023

Construction in the UK is a critical sector and a key enabler for economic growth and development. It supports the UK economy by circa £100bn per annum, employs 3 million people and supports 20% of self-employed workers.

This webinar will explore some of the major challenges it is facing as a sector, and some of the stressors the supply chain are experiencing. It will then look at regional optimism and the wider outlook.

Ian Aldous is the Director for the North at Mace, a leading global construction and consultancy business with over 7,000 employees. He is a board member of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, an External Examiner for Salford University, and a panel member for the Building Cost Information Service. Mace have 400 people working across the northern region, delivering over £5bn of construction projects and supporting 40 apprentices and graduates.
